This Self Guided Walking Tour is the perfect way to discover Catalonia’s fascinating history, culture and excellent cuisine. The route follows the ‘Cami de Ronda’ coastal walking paths that have been used for centuries to help smuggle contraband.

With its gorgeous beaches, rugged coastline, charming stone villages and pine covered hills, the Costa Brava is an unforgettable walking destination. The route begins in the village of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, a lovely seaside fishing village near the beautiful beach of Sant Pol. You’ll walk along the coast Northound, on the wonderful “Cami de Ronda” along the sea. You’ll visit ancient fishing villages, which still preserve their local culture.

We have selected a lovely mix of 3 and 4 star hotels that are perfectly located along the route. The tour also includes a ‘rest day’ in Calella de Palafrugell to better explore the charming bays of Calella, Llafranc and Tamariu.

You’ll have complete support behind the scenes. Our Spain representative will meet you at the beginning of your tour for an orientation. You will receive a packet with detailed route instructions, maps, suggestions for sights to visit along the route and emergency support phone numbers. You can take a spontaneous detour and always feel secure that your hotel room will be waiting for you. You will be able to travel at your own pace without a guide or support vehicle to hurry you along or to slow you down. Your luggage will be transported each day to the next accommodation, which will be reserved and prepaid. You don’t need to worry, as emergency support is just a phone call away.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival

Arrival from Barcelona or Girona to Sant Feliu de Guixols. Spend a relaxing day enjoying the surroundings of Sant Feliu de Guixols.

Day 2 – ‘Cami de Ronda’: Out and back walking route from Sant Feliu

Enjoy your first day of walking exploring the ‘Cami de Ronda’ Coastal walking path from your hotel in S’Agaro to the bay of Sant Feliu de Guixols and then returning along the same route. (approx 10 km)

Day 3 – ‘Cami de Ronda’: Sant Feliu – Palamos

A beautiful headland walk that follows the ‘Cami de Ronda’ (the old smugglers paths) coastal path along some of the most picturesque bays of the Costa Brava. (approx 13km)

Day 4 – ‘Cami de Ronda’ Palamos – Llafranc

A stunning coastal walk that takes in some of the best coastal scenery on the Costa Brava. Llafranc is a pretty coastal village that has maintained its original charms. (approx 13km)

Day 5 – Free day: Llafranc

A day to explore at your leisure the beautiful surroundings of Llafranc. A walk along the Cami de Ronda to Tamariu is a stunning option.

Day 6: GR 92 – Walking Route: Llafranc – Begur

Following the ‘Grand Route 92’ walking route that starts to meander inland away from the coast through the Pine forests towards the village of Begur. (approx 10km)

Day 7 – Explore the surroundings of Begur – Departure

A leisurely morning spent exploring the medieval centre of Begur before departing to Palafrugell Bus station.
