Spain’s legendary Andalusia is a picturesque land of mountains, flamenco & fantastic riding! On our Andalusia Bike Tour, you will be impressed by all the charming white villages, quiet roads, friendly people and a harmonious blend of multi-cultural traditions and architectural styles.

The rolling countryside of Andalusia is a collage of vineyard-laden valleys, olive orchards and forests that extend to the rugged mountain peaks on the horizon. Every road is simply another treasure to pedal and enjoy!

One of Andalucia’s many charms is its fascinating diversity. Impressive historical cities are a short ride from quaint whitewashed villages. Vast cultivated valleys are flanked by pristine national parks. Seaside beaches lie beside majestic mountain peaks. Islamic and Christian cultures merge to create a warm ambiance that draws you into the magic of southern Spain. Flamenco music was born here, and its rhythm still defines the soul of Andalusia.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 Málaga to Ronda – transfer time is about 1 ½ hours

Arrange your flights to Malaga, Spain and we will provide a group transfer from Malaga to our hotel in Ronda. Ronda is considered by many to be one of Andalusia’s treasures. This beautiful town split into two by the most incredible ravines, whitewashed houses, and a labyrinth of streets that betrays Ronda’s Arab past.

Day 2 Ronda Loop Ride – Distance / 50 km, Ascent /980 m

Today’s ride visits the beautiful mountains of Málaga between Ronda and the Costa del Sol. The green scenery is dotted with picturesque white villages, and it is usually possible to look down the coast to Gibraltar and the continent of Africa across the Straits. One of the villages is not white but blue! Discover why on this beautiful ride. Spend the rest of the day discovering Ronda.

Day 3 Ronda to Ardales – Distance /60 km, Ascent /860 m

We depart Ronda and cycle over the mountain pass to the spectacular countryside of El Burgo, and wind our way to Ardales. Today’s ride offers a variety of scenery, from the mountains, olive groves and vineyards of Andalusia. Our hotel tonight is in a very special location set between Guadalhorce and Guadalteba Reservoirs in the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Park.

Day 4 Ardales to Antequera – Distance / 45 km, Ascent / 1000 m

From the shores of the immense reservoir of the Guadalhorce River to the spectacular gorge of El Chorro with its sheer walls, we’ll ride to Antequerra, a beautiful town dominated by a Moorish castle. Antequera stretches out over the slopes of a hill at the foot of the Sierra de El Torcal in a network of streets of different character according to the historical period of their construction, dotted with countless monuments of interest.

Day 5 Antequera to Iznájar – Distance /55 km, Ascent / 935 m

Today we ride around the Sierra Subbética to the marvelous Moorish village of Zuheros (the name comes from the Arab word for rock, suhayra), with its 9th century castle perched high above the surrounding countryside and with the backdrop of the Sierra Subbética. Zuheros is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful white villages of Andalusia

Day 6 Iznájar to Zuheros – Distance / 65 km, Ascent / 1200 m

Today we ride around the Sierra Subbética to the marvelous Moorish village of Zuheros (the name comes from the Arab word for rock, suhayra), with its 9th century castle perched high above the surrounding countryside and with the backdrop of the Sierra Subbética. Zuheros is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful white villages of Andalusia

Day 7 Zuheros 60 km – Distance / 48 km, Ascent / 640 m

Rest day in Zuheros or choose to do a loop ride to the olive oil producing town of Baena to visit the traditional oil press of Nuñez de Prado in Baena. From here we can cycle towards the Laguna del Salobral and then return to Zuheros along the Vía Verde cycle path with more spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

Day 8 Zuheros to Priego de Córdoba – Distance / 40 km, Ascent / 600 m

Cycle past the small villages of El Tarajal and Zagrilla Baja to Priego de Córdoba. This village combines the picturesque whitewashed and geranium-bedecked old Arab quarter. Priego de Córdoba is known as the capital of the Cordoba baroque style due to its several fine churches dating from this period.

Day 9 Cycle Priego de Córdoba to Montefrío – Distance / 50 km, Ascent /1150 m

From Priego de Córdoba continue through the Sierra Subbética. We head through a hilly countryside, through a veritable “forest” of olive trees to finally arrive in the fine village of Montefrío, dominated by its 15th century church built after the town was reconquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1486. In 2015, National Geographic included Montefrío as one of the ten most beautiful village views in the world. At the end of our ride, we’ll have a 1 hour transfer to the beautiful city of Granada.

Day 10 Tour ends after breakfast.

After breakfast we say our goodbyes and depart for home or other destinations. There is easy access from Granada to continue your travels – airport, railway station and bus terminal.
