Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Alba – Distance – optional warm up ride 36 km, elevation gain 700 m

Arrival in Alba, the heart of the Langhe region. In the afternoon, bike delivery and fitting, followed by a short tour orientation and briefing with our local representative. Time to relax and explore the historic center of Alba, or enjoy your first taste of local food and wine. The tour officially begins here, at a relaxed pace. According to your arrival time, you may have time to enjoy a short warm-up loop ride. We suggest adding an extra night in Alba, especially if you are arriving from overseas, to adjust to the time difference and to enjoy more time exploring the town and easing into the tour.
Your lodging tonight is in a central location to enjoy the town of Alba.

Day 2 -Alba – Neive – Distance 42 km, Elevation gain – 1166 m

The ride from Alba to Neive gently introduces you to the Langhe landscape. Leaving Alba behind, the road starts to roll through vineyards and hazelnut groves, with quiet secondary roads and open views over the hills. The climb toward Neive is steady and rewarding, never too demanding, and leads you into one of the most beautiful hilltop villages of the area.  Cobbled streets, wine cellars, and panoramic viewpoints make Neive a perfect stop to slow down, enjoy the atmosphere, and feel fully immersed in the Langhe. Your accommodation tonight is located in the historical center of Neive and has an excellent restaurant where you will probably choose to have your dinner.

Day 3 – Neive – La Morra Distance – 47 km, Elevation gain – 940 m

Today we’ll move deeply into Langhe area. The route showcases scenic countryside, vineyard-covered slopes, and historic landmarks. True to its name, “Langhe” (meaning “hills” in the local dialect) presents elevation changes, but the gradients are manageable, typically between 4% and 7%, with steeper sections remaining short and approachable.

The vistas are breathtaking year-round—lush and green in spring, and a vibrant mosaic of browns, yellows, and reds in autumn.
Your destination is La Morra, one of Langhe’s most renowned villages. Wander through its historic center and visit the panoramic viewpoint for stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. Known as “the town of Barolo wine,” La Morra offers numerous routes to explore the area’s rich winemaking heritage
Your lodging for the next two nights is in an 18th century San Sebatiano convent that now embraces a charming accommodation.

Day 4 – La Morra loop Distance – 57km Elevation gain – 1277m

Today’s ride is about the higher Langhe area and is a quiet ride with great open views on the hills around.
From 2014 La Morra is included into the UNESCO heritage list because the beauty of the landscape around and the village itself is listed within the most beautiful villages in Italy; the village is in the highest position of the entire Langhe region so from here you have a spectacular view around. Don’t miss to taste a glass of this full body wine. Some have called Barolo the greatest wine in Italy, and even the King of Wines!! No wonder Piedmont is considered the premier wine region among so many great wine regions!

Piedmont is renowned also for the hazelnuts, you can find good hazelnuts at the wine bars served with the aperitivo and today your ride takes you at family run farm that is about hazelnut. The visit includes a guided tour of the farm with introduction to the cultivation of the hazelnuts and the production of the delicious creams. The visit ends with a light lunch at the farm. Optional transfer back to La Morra is possible (not included) on request.

Day 5 – La Morra – Monforte Distance 51km, Elevation gain – 990m

The ride from La Morra to Monforte d’Alba is one of the most scenic days in the Langhe. Leaving La Morra, the road descends through vineyards before climbing gently toward Diano d’Alba, offering wide views over rolling hills and patchwork vineyards. From here, the route continues toward Barolo, riding along quiet roads surrounded by some of the region’s most famous wine estates. After a short stop in Barolo, the final stretch climbs steadily to Monforte d’Alba, a beautiful hilltop village with a strong character, known for its stone streets, panoramic views, and relaxed atmosphere at the end of a rewarding ride.
Your accommodation (Tenuta Bussia Wine relais) is mainly a wine producer, we strongly suggest to book the wine tasting that includes the visit of the winery.
Dinner is included tonight.

Day 6 – Monforte loop Distance: 44 km, Elevation gain- 1000m

This loop ride starts from Tenuta Bussia, just outside Monforte d’Alba, and immediately dives into the heart of the Langhe. The route passes through Monforte before heading toward Dogliani, where the landscape opens up into softer hills and wide vineyard views. From Dogliani, the road climbs gradually toward Serravalle Langhe, riding through quieter, less-traveled areas that reveal a more rural side of the region. The final stretch leads through Roddino, with rolling terrain and beautiful panoramas, before closing the loop back at Tenuta Bussia. A balanced ride combining steady climbs, flowing descents, and a deep sense of place. Dinner tonight is on your own in Monforte where you will find several restaurants and wine bars to choose from. Due to the distance from the accommodation, the tour package includes a private shuttle for the return trip. Eleonora at Tenute will be happy to recommend and book a restaurant for you in Monforte.

 Day 7 – Arrivederci!

Breakfast and end of services.
You are near Alba, a town well connected by trains and buses. The train will bring you direct into the city of Turin.
